Terms of Use

The terms that apply when you use Florida Boating Info, its guides and calculators, and links to official sources and Vantage Recreational Finance.

Effective date: October 3, 2026 · Last updated: October 3, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to your use of FloridaBoatingInfo.com (the "Site"), operated by Florida Boating Info ("we", "us"). By using the Site you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

1. What the Site is

The Site provides general information about recreational boating in Florida — rules and safety, places, ownership, buying a boat — and calculators that produce estimates. It is free to use and does not require an account.

2. Information only — not professional advice

Content on the Site is general information. It is not legal, financial, credit, insurance, tax, navigation or other professional advice, and it does not create any professional or advisory relationship with you. Consider your own situation and consult a qualified professional before acting.

3. Rules and safety: the official source governs

Boating laws, fishing rules, zones and requirements change and can vary by location. We summarize them and link to the official sources, and we show when a page was last reviewed, but the law and the official agencies' current publications always govern. Check current requirements with the responsible agency — for example, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the U.S. Coast Guard and your county — before you rely on any rule. You are responsible for operating your vessel safely and lawfully. In an emergency, call 911 or use VHF channel 16.

4. Calculators and estimates

The Boat Loan Calculator and any other calculators produce estimates for informational purposes only, based on the values you enter and simplifying assumptions. Results are not an offer, approval or commitment to lend, and do not represent the rates, payments, terms, fees, requirements or programs any lender will make available to you. Actual terms depend on the lender's evaluation of your application.

5. Florida Boating Info is not a lender

We do not make loans, arrange or broker credit, take applications, check credit or make credit decisions. Buttons such as Apply for Boat Financing take you to the official application of Vantage Recreational Finance, an independent company. Your application, its evaluation and any loan terms are governed by Vantage's own terms and privacy policy. Florida Boating Info may be compensated when visitors apply through links on the Site. This relationship does not change how we write our guides, and we don't promise any particular outcome.

The Site links to government agencies, organizations, manufacturers and other third-party websites for your convenience. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, availability, products or practices. A link, or the mention of a company, brand or product, is not an endorsement and does not mean we are affiliated with it.

7. Accuracy and availability

We work to keep the Site accurate and current, but we don't guarantee that every page is complete, error-free or up to date, and we may change, add or remove content at any time without notice. The Site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Florida Boating Info and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site, its content, its calculators or any linked website — including decisions about buying, financing, insuring or operating a boat. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Site, including by:

  • attempting to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorized access to the Site or its servers;
  • using automated tools to copy the Site's content in bulk, except standard search-engine indexing;
  • using the Site for any unlawful purpose.

10. Content ownership

The Site's text, design, graphics, calculators and code are owned by Florida Boating Info or used with permission and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may view, print and share pages for personal, non-commercial use with credit and a link back to the Site. Any other use requires our written permission. Third-party trademarks and logos belong to their owners and appear only to identify their products.

11. Corrections and feedback

If you spot an error or have information that would improve a page, tell us through the Contact page. If you send us suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and applicable federal law of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to the Site will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Florida, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and changes apply from that date. If you keep using the Site after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
